Interviews at the Breadline

This is sort of "backwards," posting the interviews before the main video, but I want to get these up for press to use quotes from.

This is "activist video," meaning: bad sound, jiggling camera, etc. so bear with me! :)

  1. I am trying to raise awareness of issues the unemployed are facing in CO.
Please find the attached information about the number of people in CO who are at risk of losing their UI benefits; this information came to me directly from the CDLE late last week; it was followed up with additional information which I have not yet published.
In Colorado there are more than 26,000 who have ALREADY exhausted their UI benefits (99ers). I am one of them - have been out of I benefits and had NO income since May. I am single, not elderly or disabled and have no dependent children.

(re: UI benefits if Congress does not reauthorize EUC): As Bill Thoennes, spokesperson for the CLDE states,
"That data indicates that if Congress takes no action, there are at least 150,000 Coloradans who are currently in line to exhaust their regular state claim or their EUC claim Most of those claimants will reach the end of their claim by March of 2011."
